Alaska Day

Oct 18, 1867 in Sitka, Alaska, the offical exchange of papers transferring ownership of the new territory to the U.S. took place. It was also the first day that the American Flag was raised over Alaska. Now days, it's celebrated as "Alaska Day".
It's really non-eventful, unless you work at the state or federal courthouse. Those folks get the day off. Me? I still have to work.
Anyway...
Happy 'Alaska Day'!!!
